We offer general Green building education to help facilitate the understanding of Green strategies and the importance of compliance by all parties involved in a project. This general knowledge is important for securing the buy-in by all of the parties that will interact with your buyers and homeowners including administrative and design support staff and sales personnel. Verified Green can also provide general Green building education to government personnel on your behalf to facilitate an understanding of the benefits of Green to communities.
Verified Green has experience in facilitation of charettes for design and construction which brings the many parties together in an integrative process leading to better results in the construction process and the successful implementation of desired and appropriate Green strategies.
Conference development and course content is another area where Verified Green can bring our experience, understanding of the subject mater, awareness of the industry, and connections in the Green building community together to help you build a conference with strong appeal and meaningful content.
Success story – Scherer Brothers Lumber Company
In early 2007, a small group of Scherer Brothers employees formed a Green Committee to investigate the growing Green building and remodeling markets and the impact it would have on their company. They sought the expertise of Verified Green to help guide them to an understanding of their role in the developing markets and what was possible and reasonable for their company to undertake.
Verified Green led the team through a year-long series of trainings and discussions. One result of the dedicated work was the development and delivery of a series of Green Committee-led training programs to deliver Green building education to the entire Scherer Brothers staff. The team concurrently embarked on the process of consolidating their knowledge onto a website (link to www.green.schererbros.com) designed to educate customers while positioning their company as the leading resource on Green materials and practices. A key feature of the site is the in depth inventory review detailing their materials and how they meet requirements of the local Green building and remodeling program – Minnesota GreenStar. Verified Green also helped the Green Committee create sub-committees for on-going evaluation of their facilities and administration to improve operating efficiencies, reduce operating costs, decrease environmental impact, and improve waste management.
